When Did Catalina Sandino Moreno Marry Her Husband?
In 2005, Catalina Sandino Moreno was cast in the Spanish movie Maria Full of Grace, portraying the leading role of Maria Alvarez. While the movie earned Catalina an Oscar for Best Actress, it also helped her to find her one true love!
Catalina met her now-husband, David Elwell, during the movie’s production. David was the electrician who was in charge of the project. The couple dated for a year before deciding to get married in 2006 with a small ceremony attended by friends and family.
On a night out with The New York Times, David revealed that he changed his eating habits for Catalina since the actress mostly consumes plant-based meals. However, he admitted that he “occasionally enjoys meat,” too. Catalina only replied to David cheekily, noting that “tofu clears the arteries.”
Despite stating in a red carpet interview two years after they got married that they have “not yet” thought about having babies, Catalina and David reportedly are expecting their first child several months later!
While neither party addressed the rumors, the couple was indeed blessed with a baby boy, who has turned into a gorgeous young man as of 2024.
